Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)

A partial hospitalization program or PHP is a structured outpatient program where
people can receive a level of care comparable to what they would get on an inpatient
unit, but then they go home to sleep in their own beds and go home for weekends. Most
of these programs consist of groups for approximately six hours per day 5 to 6 hours
per day and often will be provided. The partial hospitalization program can be way to
receive treatment when an inpatient admission is not required or it may be a step down
from inpatient once a person is stable enough.
